Check out our brand new online store at store.ghostghost.net to hear our two brand new records: the long awaited second EP, Of Innocence and Experience (with a beautiful watercolor album cover by Charlie Kemmerer), and the came-out-of-nowhere full length album No Clothes on Ragged Island (written in one day and recorded in one week). You can listen to any of our albums on the store site, download them in any format you like, and even read the lyrics and liner notes. Our first pressing of vinyl is happening today, so we are also taking pre-orders of the limited edition colored vinyl at the store!

No Clothes on Ragged Island

Happy birthday Edna St. Vincent Millay, we made you an album: http://bit.ly/ghostghostrpm . The album title is No Clothes on Ragged Island, and each of the ten songs is inspired by a scene from the poet’s life. The songs were written by Kevin and Karl, five songs each, in about 24 hours as part of the RPM Challenge. These are the rough demo recordings made yesterday. A more finished version is in the works, and due by the end of the week–no, seriously, we have to turn them in on March 1. In the studio

We’ve been a little quieter than usual, and here’s why: Ghost Ghost is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on our second EP, coming at you this September. This time around, we did the recording ourselves in our Lower East Side practice space. Expect some stylistic twists and turns into areas we haven’t explored as a band yet, such as: Guns N’ Roses circa 1990; an unexplainable TV on the Radio influence; and “Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Kemmerer.”

We’ll be back on stage and in the lights this September with a record release party, a gallery show with Charlie Kemmerer at the Tompkins Square New York Public Library, and a host of other engagements designed to make you shake what your mama gave you.

Knocks From the Underground

Music blog Knocks From the Underground reviewed our EP and had a lot of nice things to say. In fact, they had nothing but nice things to say, such as this little gem: “the trio deftly swings between styles and somehow manages to own each one.” Awesome to the max.

Total Control Now

Earlier this month, we wrote and recorded a new song in a week. The song is called “Total Control Now,” in honor of our country’s sea-change. It’s a song about waking up from a nightmare, putting it behind you, and going out into the world. Alternately, it’s also a breakup song about the world’s worst President/girlfriend. You can download or listen to it by clicking here. The song derives much inspiration from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas:

Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it’s all about. Total control now. Tooling along the main drag on a Saturday night in Las Vegas, two good old boys in a fireapple-red convertible . . . stoned, ripped, twisted . . . Good People.
