Saturday 4/25/2009, at The Mill in Middlebury, VT: Our favorite party house on the Middlebury College campus invited us back to play a late night show at The Mill. We played for three hours, from 11 PM to 2 AM. The kids were on fire, dancing and shouting like the Midd kids do. Mark Christensen guested on guitar through the entire monster set.
We dropped by the Old Stone Mill open house here at Middlebury College to catch Alex Consalvo’s stenciled graffiti art (seen in the picture at left) and t-shirt designs. There we saw an open piano that called out to us, saying “drop some tunes on the unsuspecting artgoers.” So we did, rocking piano and vocal arrangements of a few songs. Old Stone Mill is a beautiful building in downtown Middlebury that students get to use for art/music workspaces. Up at the top of the stairs we caught a bearded cat named Phillippe and his rad band jamming out on their improv instrumentals.
The Sepomana music festival at Middlebury College was a total blast. We got to share the stage with Brown Heir, Tobacco, and The Death Set. We also got to play with our good friend Mark Christensen, who tore it up on guitar, leaving bits of Gary Busey all over the stage. The crowd at Middlebury is great–really into music and ready to dance at the slightest provocation. Thanks so much for dancing, Middlebury, you made our night.
