Saturday show at endangered Lit Lounge

Saturday, Feb. 20, 10:30 PM, at Lit Lounge: In case you haven’t heard, the City has threatened to shut down Lit Lounge this month, citing repeated violations of the NYC smoking ban. The City’s lawyer in this case was quoted as saying “We made it clear we will go forward and we are not interested in making a deal,” which is the City’s way of saying that this could be the last time that Ghost Ghost and artist Charlie Kemmerer perform at Lit Lounge. So come out for one last hurrah in the dark rock and roll basement that we’ve played more than any other band over the last year. Our Hackensack-ack-ack-ack friends Agency of Record open. $6, 21+. Lit Lounge is located at 93 2nd Ave. in Manhattan.

Fri., Nov. 6, 10 PM at Lit Lounge: Ghost Ghost and Charlie Kemmerer return to Lit Lounge Nov. 6 to play rock music and throw the paint around. Special guest alert! From the icy subcontinent/state of Vermont, avant-rock guitarist Mark Christensen will be joining us onstage for this show. Mark played guitar with us for many shows on our spring 2009 New England tour, including our live-on-the-air concert for WRMC Middlebury College radio. The show is 21+, $6 admission. Lit Lounge is located at 93 2nd Ave., New York NY 10003. Pennsylvania bands Kite Party and Owl Stations open. Actor Charles Bronson (from the Death Wish movies), also from Pennsylvania, closes.

Friday, 9/25, 9:15 PM at Lit Lounge: Ghost Ghost and Charlie Kemmerer return to the dark rock and roll basement of Lit Lounge tonight. Our Boston friends The Sharp Lads will be preceding us on stage, kicking out the ska jams starting at 8:30. The show is $6. Gene Perelson from etc… is a sketch comic and so much more. In the early 1950′s, he was the personal MC for James Brown, but that was long ago. Since then, you might have seen Gene introducing us at our shows. Gene recently asked Karl to appear in a sketch comedy video titled Genital Warps. Check it out.

Surprise late night set at Mill

Saturday 4/25/2009, at The Mill in Middlebury, VT: Our favorite party house on the Middlebury College campus invited us back to play a late night show at The Mill. We played for three hours, from 11 PM to 2 AM. The kids were on fire, dancing and shouting like the Midd kids do. Mark Christensen guested on guitar through the entire monster set.

Live concert on WRMC

Saturday, 4/25/2009, from 3:30 PM to 5 PM on WRMC: We’re about to rock a live on-the-air concert on WRMC with DJ Salen Andrews on her rad rock show Into the Void. Mark Christensen will sit in on a few songs, adding that sweet second guitar. We’ll be playing a full concert, so we hope you can tune in online if you’re not within range of the 2.9 kilowatt transmitter broadcasting our music throughout the Champlain Valley.

Saturday 4/18/2009, 10:30 PM, at Pearson’s Lounge, Middlebury College: We’re playing a charity show tonight with our friends The Dead Jettsons. We’re especially stoked to see Dead Jettsons drummer Charlie Henschen, a real powerhouse who has shared stages with Kevin and Karl in the past. Proceeds from the show benefit a women’s farming collective in Africa. Mark Christensen is joining us on second guitar, so prepare to have your ears first caressed and then mercilessly destroyed. You should all know that Mark is Middlebury’s most precious natural/unnatural resource.

Performance at the Old Stone Mill

We dropped by the Old Stone Mill open house here at Middlebury College to catch Alex Consalvo’s stenciled graffiti art (seen in the picture at left) and t-shirt designs. There we saw an open piano that called out to us, saying “drop some tunes on the unsuspecting artgoers.” So we did, rocking piano and vocal arrangements of a few songs. Old Stone Mill is a beautiful building in downtown Middlebury that students get to use for art/music workspaces. Up at the top of the stairs we caught a bearded cat named Phillippe and his rad band jamming out on their improv instrumentals.

Sepomana

The Sepomana music festival at Middlebury College was a total blast. We got to share the stage with Brown Heir, Tobacco, and The Death Set. We also got to play with our good friend Mark Christensen, who tore it up on guitar, leaving bits of Gary Busey all over the stage. The crowd at Middlebury is great–really into music and ready to dance at the slightest provocation. Thanks so much for dancing, Middlebury, you made our night. Biggest thanks go out to WRMC 91.1 FM and Middlebury CCAL for running such a great show.

Ghost Ghost does not confirm or deny rumors of a late night show at The Mill.
